KAN KARI EAR PENDANTS

These earrings were worn by women in the lobe, by men through a hole in the helix of the ear, but for special occasions and festivals only. KAN KARI are an heirloom of a family and the same pair is used for generations. They are given to the bride as part of a dowry. 

KAN KARI are typical for Rajput and Rabari community: Rabari believe that the ornament was invented by Lakho Fulani, Rajput king with a Rabari mother. He live in the 11th century and resided in Kera, South of Bhuj.

Pins have been redone for hygiene purpose and to accommodate western use
