VAN GELDER DESIGNS

Whilst honoring the solid foundation of their first love, traditional Indian jewellery, the beautiful, age old design and craftsmanship stirred the sisters imagination. Progressively this triggered a creative process they felt the needed to explore, which eventually led up to the ambition of expanding Van Gelder Jewellery with their own,Van Gelder Designs. Noëlle and Fleur launched the debut of Van Gelder Designs in Spring of 2019! With this expansion the Van Gelder’s are moving in a new and exciting direction, where Van Gelder Designs, with a regular launch of their own Limited Edition designs, can naturally exist next to Van Gelder Jewellery Heritage Collection! Van Gelder Jewellery operates from its offices -Van Gelder Galleries- in the historical centre of s’-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.

COLLABORATION

During our travels, collecting extraordinary pieces of traditional Indian heritage jewelry, we learned to listen to the heart. Parallel to that thorough art historical reference and research is applied. Over the years all this added up to an experienced and trained ‘eye’ for quality. Moreover, we consider it our duty, and essential in a growing company, to always continue to develop and improve our knowledge and expertise. Therefore, in 2012 we have decided to extend our research methods with complete and factual scientific review by commissioning an independent precious metal and gemological research report. We found in Dr J.C. Zwaan of The Netherlands Gemological Laboratory Leiden, a dedicated, highly experienced and qualified partner. Today we aim that every item in our collection is accompanied by a full art historical ánd independent gemological scientific report, that uses the gemmological standards used by the Dutch Association of Gemmologists, the Gemmological Association of America and the International Colored Stones Association.Ien so doing adding up to the understanding and appreciation of each piece for both the current and future owner.
